Hernandez leads Dzukija past Nevezis
Another excellent display by Dzukija playmaker Alejandro Hernandez put an end to the three-game winning streak of Nevezis in the Betsafe LKL, with the Alytus side coming away with a 79-75 victory on the road in Kedainiai.
In spite of holding a slight edge from tip-off to the final buzzer, the visitors did allow the situation to get a little dicey towards the end of the game, wasting a 12-point third-quarter lead.
The spotlight was on Hernandez for Dzukija, who tallied an efficiency of 28 after just missing out on a triple-double with 14 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds.
Paulius Petrilevicius added a game-high 18 points in the win, while Anatoly Kashirov and Gediminas Navickas collected 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Having claimed the Player of the Week honors, Vladyslav Koreniuk finished the game with a team-high 17 points for Nevezis, with Gintautas Matulis adding 12 points.
The win saw Dzukija climb to fifth place in the standings with an even 5-5 record, while lost for the first time since mid-October and now rank seventh with a 3-5 record.
