In-form Seibutis named Player of the Month

Neptunas guard Renaldas Seibutis stepped up in a big way for the Klaipeda club in January and reeled in the Betsafe LKL Player of the Month award after a fantastic stretch of play of late.

The 32-year-old player averaged 17.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, helping Neptunas maintain momentum despite the departures of Juan Palacios, Arnas Butkevicius and Mindaugas Girdziunas.

"It's been a difficult month," Seibutis told LKL.LT. "We had to regroup after losing some key players, but we all work hard, try our best and have the right mindset."

Neptunas won two out of three games in January, with their only defeat coming against Betsafe LKL frontrunners and defending champions Zalgiris, who have been particularly hard to stop this season.

Seibutis became the fourth Neptunas player to claim the Player of the Month honors this season, joining the same ranks as Juan Palacios, Arnas Butkevicius and Edgaras Zelionis.

Having claimed the award in December, Zelionis also found his way to the Team of the Month in January alongside Siauliai big man Laurynas Birutis, Zanis Peiners of Lietkabelis and Juventus guard Anthony Ireland.
