Peterson snatches up Betsafe LKL Player of the Week honors

Lietuvos Rytas big man Travis Peterson earned the Betsafe LKL Player of the Week honors for the third time this season after leading the Vilnius side to an important win against Zalgiris on Sunday.

The 32-year-old power forward did not miss a single shot in a 75-68 victory, going 7-of-7 from the field and 3-of-3 from the stripe for a game-high 21 points.

Peterson also added 4 rebounds and 3 steals and finished with an overall efficiency index of 31.

Meanwhile, Laurynas Birutis of Siauliai continued his stellar play with two big games last week, going for 19 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks in an 87-76 win against Dzukija and collecting 21 points and 8 rebounds in a 97-95 defeat to Vytautas.

The rest of the Team of the Week was rounded out by Pieno Zvaigzdes guard Trevon Hughes, Edvinas Seskus of Vytautas and Lietkabelis veteran Simas Jasaitis.
