Lietuvos Rytas overcome LiAngelo-led Vytautas in Prienai
Lietuvos Rytas inscribed their 12th consecutve win in the Betsafe LKL after overcoming a tough challenge from Vytautas in the fourth quarter to come out on top 83-76 in Prienai.
Having come from behind, the second-placed visitors from Vilnius tipped the scales in their favor in the final minutes of the game and improved to a 20-4 record in the standings.
Jimmy Barron led the winners with a game-high 20 points after going 5-of-7 from three-point range, Loukas Mavrokefalidis had 19 points, while Martynas Echodas chipped in with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 blocks.
Rokas Giedraitis was the only other double-digit scorer for Lietuvos Rytas with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
For Vytautas, LiAngelo Ball was the top scorer with 18 points on an efficient 6-of-11 shooting display from the field. Tomas Dimsa added 11 points and 5 assists, while Kervin Bristol and Denys Lukashov posted 9 points each.
LaMelo Ball did not play due to an injury.
The Prienai-Birstonas side remains bottom of the table in the Betsafe LKL with a 5-19 record, one game behind Nevezis and down two in the win column from the last Play-Off place, currently held by Dzukija.
