Vytautas top Nevezis, take first step to avoiding relegation
Trying to avoid relegation, the last-placed Betsafe LKL side Vytautas got back to winning ways with a 96-79 victory over their nearest rivals Nevezis and ended a six-game losing streak in the domestic championship.
The Virginijus Seskus-coached Prienai club improved to a 6-24 record, closing in on the ninth-placed Nevezis who are currently two games up in the win column with an 8-22 mark.
Both teams still have six games left in the Regular Season.
Vytautas had six players in double figures with team captain Eigirdas Zukauskas leading the way with a team-highs of 16 points and 7 assists, while Justas Sinica scored 15 points and dished out 4 assists.
LiAngelo Ball had an efficient 11-point, 4-rebound game on 4-of-5 attempts from the field in 18 minutes of action. Egidijus Dimsa, Kervin Bristol and Edvinas Seskus chipping in with 10 points apiece.
For Nevezis, James Woordard had a game-high 20 points, Tadas Sedekerskis collected 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Aleksandr Zakharov and Gintautas Matulis had 9 points each.
