Lietuvos Rytas lock down Neptunas, even up the series at 1-1
After losing the series-opener at the Siemens Arena a couple of days back, Lietuvos Rytas evened up the score against Neptunas in the Betsafe LKL Semi-Finals with a 67-49 victory on the road in Klaipeda on Wednesday.
In a nerve-wracking game for coaches and fans of both teams, the visitors from Vilnius overcame a sluggish start and controlled the proceedings for most of the contest, albeit with the hosts always lurking within striking distance.
Loukas Mavrokefalidis bounced back after a terrible performance in Game 1 of the series with an 18-point and 7-rebound contribution, Jimmy Baron came to life with 16 points, while Chris Kramer shined on both ends of the floor with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Neptunas did not have any players in double figures. Tomas Delininkaitis collected a team-high 9 points but went just 1-of-7 from the field, Renaldas Seibutis scored 8 points, as Simas Galdikas chipped in with 7 points and 10 rebounds.
As a team, the hosts made just 13-of-58 attempts from the field (22 percent), while Lietuvos Rytas converted 22-of-57 shots for a conversion rate of 38 percent.
The series returns to Vilnius for Game 3, which will be played on June 2.
