Neptunas defeat Lietuvos Rytas again, extend Semi-Finals
With their backs against the wall, Neptunas stayed alive in the Betsafe LKL Semi-Finals against Lietuvos Rytas by registering a 74-70 victory in Game 4 of the series on Monday.
Despite allowing the visitors from Vilnius to start the contest on a 17-2 run, the home side bounced back closed out the deficit even before the intermission.
Neptunas found themselves down 61-55 with 6:57 left in the fourth quarter, but rallied 10-0 and took over the initiative down the final stretch of the game.
Team captain Simas Galdikas put together another impressive game, leading the Klaipeda side with a 15-team effort, while Renaldas Seibutis and Tomas Delininkaitis collected 11 points apiece.
Celebrating his birthday, big man Edgaras Zelionis also had 10 points.
Loukas Mavrokefalidis was the top scorer for Lietuvos Rytas with 18 points, Travis Peterson netted 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Rokas Giedraitis finished with 10 points.
The series will return to Vilnius for an all-decisive Game 5, with the winner joining the defending champions Zalgiris in the Finals.
