Zalgiris avoid back-to-back defeats; Skycop and Nevezis get wins
The tough patch in the Betsafe LKL continued for Zalgiris, who only barely avoided back-to-back defeats with a come-from-behind win in Panevezys on Sunday night.
The top-ranked team erased a double-digit deficit to claim a 73-69 victory against Lietkabelis behind a near triple-double from point guard Nate Wolters to improve to a 16-2 record.
The playmaker finished the contest with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists, while Marius Grigonis came up with a 14-point contribution for the victorious Zalgiris.
Paulius Valinskas and Jamar Wilson collected 12 points apiece for Lietkabelis, as Ziga Dimec and Vaidas Kariniauskas added 10 points each.
Meanwhile, Skycop Prienai snatched an 85-72 win over Dzukija, as Mindaugas Lukauskis marked his return from injury with 19 points and 4 steals. Dzukija guard Matas Jogela matched his output with 19 points for the visitors from Alytus.
In the only other Betsafe LKL fixture on Sunday, Nevezis surprised Juventus with a 97-93 victory in Kedainiai, with Chauncey Collins leading the way with 24 points and 9 rebounds and Gabrielius Maldunas chipping in with 15 points.
Dovis Bickauskis was the top man for Juventus with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists, while Gytis Radzevicius added 19 points.
