Zalgiris extend Finals lead to 2-0 in Vilnius
After drawing first blood in the Betsafe LKL Finals in Kaunas, Zalgiris extended their lead to 2-0 in the best-of-three series with a convincing 85-67 victory over Rytas in Vilnius on Thursday.
Much like in the first encounter, the Sarunas Jasikevicius-coached side came down on their opponents with full force already in the opening quarter, Edgaras Ulanovas leading the way.
Having collected all 16 of his points in the first quarter, Ulanovas was the top scorer for Zalgiris, with Marius Grigonis and Brandon Davies adding 13 points apiece. With 12 points, Aaron White also joined the double-digit club.
Meanwhile, Arnas Butkevicius and Mindaugas Girdziunas shared a team-high mark of 14 points for Rytas, as Martynas Echodas collected 11 points.
Zalgiris will have a chance to capture the Betsafe LKL crown already on Saturday, with the Finals returning to Kaunas for a potentially decisive Game 3.
