Zalgiris continues putting up blocks for the future, as they sign 17-year-old French talent Tom Digbeu to a multi-year contract. The 195 cm guard should be playing in Prienai the upcoming season in the Betsafe LKL.
Born in Barcelona, the athletic winger also holds a Spanish passport and has spent the last three seasons in the FC Barcelona academy, playing for the powerhouse’s secondary team in the second Spanish division. He averaged 3.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 13 minutes of playing time.
Despite his young age, Digbeu has played for the Barcelona side’s U18 team in the EuroLeague junior tournament for the last three years. In this past qualifying round, Digbeu averaged 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.2 steals and was chosen to the All-Tournament Team.
