Zalgiris starts title defense with an easy win

It was a start of the season for the Betsafe LKL champions Zalgiris Kaunas their head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius should be happy about.

Zalgiris dominated from the beginning to the end against BC Siauliai and won 94-63 in Siauliai Arena.

Zach LeDay was the player of the night with 17 points (8/10 FG) and 2 steals in just 19 minutes.

Jock Landale scored 14 points in 14 minutes for Zalgiris, 6 days after playing in the FIBA World Cup final for Australia in China.

Zalgiris made a 10-0 run at the end of the first quarter and took a lead 25-15.

BC Siauliai, the last team on the standings last season, did not bounce back and trailed by 16 points at half-time.

Benas Griciunas was the top scorer for BC Siauliai with 18 points. Rokas Gustys scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds on his debut in the LKL.
