Siauliai shocked Zalgiris, CBet and Nevezis won after huge come-backs
Siauliai came to Zalgiris Arena and showed that they fear no team. Antanas Sireika's coached team 86:83 defeated Zalgiris Kaunas and became the second team in Betsafe LKL to beat last years' champions this season.
Siauliai ran away when Evaldas Saulys hit three three pointers in the fourth quarter and gave visitors 11 points lead - 81:70. Zalgiris managed to come back but difficult shot that could have tied the game was off by Lukas Lekavicius.
Saulys was the top scorer of the game with 20 points, while Aurimas Urbonas scored 17. Arturas Milaknis made six threes and scored 18 points for Zalgiris.
CBet Prienai finished the game with 17:2 run and defeated Pavalys Pieno zvaigzdes 67:65.
It was the third CBet win against Pasvalys' side this season. Pieno zvaigzdes faced the sixth loss in a row - it is the biggest loosing streak in Betsafe LKL.
CBet were down 34:51 in the third quarter but huge 17:2 run in the last period gave CBet the lead 67:65. The last possession by Pieno zvaigzdes was unsuccessful.
Arnas Velicka abd Regimantas Miniotas scored 13 points each for CBet. Velicka also added eight rebounds.
Nevezis Kedainiai won the last period 26:14 and managed to defeat Sintek-Dzukija Alytus 87:86.
Julius Kazakauskas made a basket with a foul that gave Nevezis lead 87:86 and after the time-out Kazakauskas stole the ball after the inbound play and became Nevezis hero.
Kazakauskas scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He helped Nevezis to jump from the last place in the standings.
Chauncey Collins had another amazing game but that was not enough for Alytus's side. Point guard scored 25 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished eight assists and recorded 35 efficiency rating.
