Žalgiris and Rytas survive tough challenges, Artūrs Žagars puts on a monster performance
Betsafe-LKL leaders Žalgiris Kaunas and Rytas Vilnius continues to sit at the top of the standings. It was difficult for both teams in Gameweek 13 but they managed to get the job done.
Žalgiris won against 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevėžys at home 85:77. Tomas Dimša led the way with 17 points and 5 assists. Kristian Kullamae had 16 points and 6 assists for Panevėžys.
Exciting action spilled into an extra period as Rytas made it out to top Šiauliai, 107:101, in overtime. Gytis Radzevičius logged 21 points, Margiris Normantas followed with 18. Nemanja Bezbradica scored 24 for Šiauliai.
Artūrs Žagars put on a show and set a new season-high for player efficiency rating at 43. Latvian guard exploded for 31 points and 5 rebounds as Nevėžis-Optibet Kėdainiai beat Gargždai 99:92. Tim Lambrecht added 26 points, Isiah Osborne had 22 for Gargždai.
Uniclub Casino – Juventus Utena had no trouble against Labas GAS Prienai 92:68. Leading all the way, Utena inked its 9th win this season. Justin Alston posted 18 points and 10 rebounds. Kyan Anderson scored 21 points for the losing side.
Wolves got the job done with ease, beating Pieno žvaigždės Pasvalys on the road 89:71. Regimantas Miniotas finished 20 points while Eigirdas Žukauskas added 19. Martynas Pacevičius led the losing side with 16 points.
