The finish line of the LKL sponsored by Betsson regular season is within sight. With only thirteen games remaining, the standings are on the verge of freezing, finally revealing the definitive bracket for the upcoming playoffs.

The Giants at the Top

A few clubs can breathe easy. Žalgiris Kaunas (27-1) and Rytas Vlinius (19-11)—both currently deep in the final stages of their respective international campaigns—have already locked in their seeds. Žalgiris, boasting a near-flawless record with just a single defeat, secured the regular-season title some time ago. Meanwhile, Rytas managed to solidify their hold on second place over the past few weeks, albeit with a few shaky performances.

The Battle for the Middle Ground

The real drama, however, lies further down the table. The final configuration of the 3rd through 5th seeds will be decided over the next fortnight. Currently, Neptūnas Klaipėda (16-13) holds the strongest hand for the third spot, owning the tiebreaker advantage over both Šiauliai (16-13) and Lietkabelis Panevėžys (15-14). While Šiauliai and Lietkabelis have one head-to-head clash remaining, the side from Šiauliai currently holds the upper hand. To leapfrog their rivals, the Panevėžys squad will need to finish the season with at least one more win than the teams above them.

Meanwhile, Gargždai (12-17) appears relatively stationary in sixth place; it would take a sequence of highly improbable upsets to move them from their current position.

A Resurrection at the Bottom

Perhaps the most stunning narrative is unfolding at the bottom of the table. Jonava Hipocredit (8-21), a team that seemed anchored to the basement since the season's opening tip-off, has risen like a phoenix from the ashes. Capitalizing on their rivals' stumbles, they have surged into the playoff zone, displacing Nevėžis-Paskolų klubas Kėdainiai (8-21) thanks to a superior head-to-head record. Sitting just above this fray is Utena Juventus (9-19), who finally found relief last week by snapping a grueling 11-game losing streak.
