Juventus head coach Petrauskas steps down
After a worst-ever start of the season for Juventus Utena, head coach Gediminas Petrauskas announced his decision to step down from his position following the team's latest loss in the Betsafe LKL.
The Utena side allowed their opponents to climb out of a 19-point deficit and coming up short 80-74 in the end, which was the seventh consecutive defeated for the club.
"It's probably understandable that after a start like this, 0-7, there's no other road but to take responsibility, apologize to the fans and ask them to continue believing in the team," said Petrauskas. "This was my last game coaching in Utena."
Juventus will play their next Betsafe LKL game on Monday at home against Pieno Zvaigzdes before an international clash against Hapoel Holon in the Basketball Champions League on Wednesday.
